Ill be following this up with a tutorial of how I made this for the site Cgcookie.com.
Still playing with rendering and lighting techniques. Total this one took about 17 hours. The soldier guy fighting the beast was after thought that wasn’t originally planned.

Recent environment painting for aegik co.
I also included the original sketch to see how it developed into the finish.
What i like to do in scene like this is block it out using the most very basic of photoshops brushes. then Once the color and layout is established Ill clean it up background to foreground. This is where Ill add some photo elements and custom brushes.
